Oslo

Day 2 continued... Spent afternoon looking for a restaurant for dinner. We're trying for 'authentic' Norwegian food but that seemed to comprise whale or deer meatballs and couldn't quite come at either. They also do a lot of seafood so eventually found a place called Bacchus right near an old church- I think it is the main church. Had a lovely meal. Stephen had a lovely fresh asparagus salad- White and green asparagus and I opted for some shrimps- basically baby prawns. They were delicious- very sweet with a strangely rough shell. The restaurant was only doing outdoor seating under large umbrellas with heaters. Summer in Norway. We were assured our table near the edge would be fine. it bucketed down for about half an hour- we got moved. Got to admire the Norwegians, perserving with the outdoor summer cafe scene. Even given name of restaurant did not have wine. $20 each for a glass. SA commented he does not know how anyone could afford to get drunk here.
