Day 13 - Saint Gervais - Wandered into town (OK takes all of 2 minutes) for coffee and a general relax with the locals.  Managed to order coffee without embarrassing ourselves and decided to have a walk around some of the town which we had not really done yet.  Enjoyed pottering around the village in and out of the shops.  Resisted buying very cute pottery as decided was not a sensible option for getting home.  Discovered some historic sights by accident today - an old fort and dwelling - around 13-14th century and what seemed to be a retirement village - totally unrelated of course.  Bought bread for lunch as the organic one we bought at the markets - while definitely organic is pretty solid and it is like sawing a brick.  Resisted buying any pastries.  Went out for another walk later on and found the temperature has plummeted - must be in single digits.  Steph had mentioned that it seemed that once you hit mid-September a switch is flicked on and it becomes noticeably colder.  It definitely seems to be heading in that direction. Steph was out climbing today with a friend and should be having dinner with them both tonight in a local restaurant. The sick one is very slowly improving but it is at a fairly glacial pace unfortunately.
