Day 26- South Uist - caught car ferry to Uist today- very smooth trip luckily. Sat outside for a bit and saw some porpoises diving up and down alongside the boat- very exciting. Easy drive to new accommodation as essentially only one main road. We are in Killigarry village. At first glance there are 5 hours in Killigarry 'village'. Place has been very comfortably fitted out. The owner has very generously left us with a lot of food including what look to be fresh eggs. Found local Coop and stocked up on a few essentials and located a couple of places for dinner. Hopefully will be fine tomorrow as there should be a beach near here that we can go for a walk along. Definitely a lot more remote that Skye and a lot flatter. Interestingly also a lot of religious icons on the side of the road- statues of mother nary. Strange- wasn't expecting that- must do some research on whether we have stumbled on a Catholic outpost as look very Catholic type icons to me.
